20th December 2020 Hiking - Walking: Landguard circuit Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: 3 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Sunday 20th December- walk **** - Landguard Circuit – sunny. What a week it has been with four top windsurfing sessions it was nice to have a day off, might be the last session of the year as the temperature is set to drop! Relaxing start to the day, did exercises and did some garden bird watching while Mag baked biscuits for Christmas presents then after a quick bite and with the sun still out, we drove down to The Manor. We were lucky to get the last free spot in the road and set off for a walk around Landguard Nature Reserve. Avoiding the muddy path along the hills we walked on the grass bumping into some friends out with their dog stopping for a chat. The sun was dropping over Harwich which made for a nice sky which got better as the walk continued:) Reaching the dock view point there was a fishing competition in progress, we have never seen so many fishermen here! It was then back along the River Orwell and across the grassy heath with the sun setting behind us, just stunning:) Then home for our usual cuppa with some yummy freshy made carrot cake while watching Shrek 2, nice day!
